Generate Off-Road Routes on Your Phone
OffTrail generates routes for adventure motorcycles and 4×4 / SSV directly on your phone — a route to a location you choose, or a Round Trip that brings you back to the start. The route appears on the map, ready to preview and ride.
Generate a route when you need one
Most GPX navigation starts with a file someone else made. OffTrail also covers the moment when you know where you want to go but have no Track. Tap a point on the map, search for a place or enter coordinates, and OffTrail generates a route to it. The route draws on the map like any GPX Track, with the same following, off-track alerts and recording.
Choose how you ride
Pick an Adventure motorcycle or 4×4 / SSV, then choose from Max off-road through Off-road, Mixed and Backroads to Fast. Adventure motorcycles can include single Tracks where that makes sense; a 4×4 / SSV is never sent down a narrow single Track. Riders remain responsible for local access rules, closures and land-use restrictions.
Generate a Round Trip
Round Trip generation answers the most common riding question of all: “I have an afternoon — where do I go?” Start from your current location, choose a distance and OffTrail generates a circular route that returns to the start. Generate, preview the loop, ride. Read more about Motorcycle Round Trip generation.
Offline usage
Generating a route needs a data connection — the route computation runs on OffTrail's servers. Everything after that is local: with the country's offline map downloaded, following the generated route, off-track alerts and ride recording all work with no coverage, exactly like an imported GPX Track. See offline GPX navigation for the full offline picture.
Prefer to build the route yourself?
The OffTrail Route Planner is for deliberate planning before the ride: use a full-size map, add stops, bring your own GPX Tracks and refine the route before you download it. Route Generation in the app is for getting on the move now.
Get OffTrail free on the App Store or Google Play. Have a Track? Load it. Need a route? Generate it. Ready? Ride it.
Frequently asked questions
Can OffTrail generate off-road routes?
Yes. Pick a point on the map or type coordinates and OffTrail generates an off-road route to it, favouring trails and unpaved ways.
Does it support motorcycles and 4x4?
Yes. The off-road routing is designed for adventure motorcycles and 4x4 vehicles; ways too narrow or too rough for vehicles are not the target.
Can I generate a circular route?
Yes. Round Trip mode builds a circular route from your current location that returns to the start.
What is the maximum circular route distance?
200 km. Choose any distance up to that and OffTrail generates a loop to match.
Can I follow the route offline?
Yes. Once generated, the route behaves like a loaded GPX Track — with the country's offline map downloaded, following it works without any coverage.
Can I import my own GPX instead?
Yes. GPX import is the primary workflow — route generation is there for when you don't have a Track.
Does route generation require internet?
Yes. Generating a new route needs a data connection because the route computation runs on OffTrail's servers. Following an already-generated route is fully offline.
